Taking care of your dog's emotional and physical well-being, especially through interaction and play, is essential for their overall health. This makes choosing the right toys an indispensable part of their care.

A bold new attempt to incorporate elements of Korean drama monsters into pet toys!

FIPEA is honored to collaborate with a South African pet brand on this challenging and creative toy design project. The goal of this design is to create a unique series of dog toys, inspired by the monster themes from the Korean drama "Sweet Home". We aim to seamlessly blend the seemingly contradictory elements of bizarre and cute, crafting a distinctive collection of latex monster toys that stand out in the market.

During the design process, we conducted an in-depth study of the unique characteristics of the monsters from "Sweet Home". These monsters have intricate and detailed appearances, but their complex designs posed challenges in both expressing cute elements and meeting the technical demands of mold production. Therefore, in the sketching phase, we integrated the original monster designs with rounded and softened cute elements to enhance their appeal. We experimented with various shapes and details, carefully crafting each character to ensure that they are not only visually striking but also functional in real-world use.

Our Design Process: Sketching → 3D Modeling

Once the sketches are finalized, we move into the modeling phase, using 3D software to transform the sketches into precise three-dimensional models. During this stage, we focus on highlighting each monster's unique characteristics while making necessary adjustments to ensure the toy's feasibility in production. Multiple rounds of model corrections are carried out to ensure every detail perfectly aligns with the client's requirements.

This series of toys uses high-quality latex material, specifically designed to meet dogs' chewing and play needs. The latex is both durable and flexible, capable of withstanding dogs' bite force while providing a comfortable chewing experience. Each toy features textured surfaces with raised particles to increase friction during chewing, enhancing the enjoyment of the activity. Additionally, the toys are designed with curved hooks for easy tug-of-war interactions between owners and pets, enriching the play experience. We have also employed bright colors to not only attract dogs' attention but also to make it easy for owners to locate the toys in both indoor and outdoor settings, reducing the risk of losing them.
