『Wall Mural Design and Illustration - A 2D Fantasy Fairy Tale World with Hopping Rabbits』

Rabbit Pop Home is a family-friendly guesthouse located in Zhunan Township, Miaoli County, Taiwan, with outstanding 5-star reviews on Google and ratings of over 8 on Agoda. What makes this project unique is that the designer wasn't just responsible for the mural design but also participated in its on-site execution. This presented a rare and exciting opportunity. We're honored that Rabbit Pop Home chose us to create mural designs for their guesthouse. The guesthouse is a four-story townhouse transformed into a family-themed accommodation, perfect for families and children to enjoy quality time together. They wanted to enhance the walls between each floor with adorable 2D murals to create a charming and whimsical atmosphere.

The guesthouse's mural designs focus on the theme of Miaoli's local charm, highlighting the unique natural surroundings and distinctive historical sites that Miaoli offers. The incorporation of the rabbit, the small animal after which the guesthouse is named, is essential. At Rabbit Pop Home, every corner of each floor holds delightful surprises. You can take photos with these cute animals, immersing yourself in a whimsical fairytale world.

The most challenging aspect of the mural design and construction was probably the commute. The entire construction process took approximately six days. When both parties decided to collaborate, the designer's main concern was accommodation. Surprisingly, the guesthouse owner was very kind and offered free accommodation at the guesthouse! This generous offer allowed the designer to work without any worries about lodging.

The mural design consists of five walls in total. The first mural features a favorite treat of children, chocolate cotton candy. Shaped like a rabbit and drizzled with rich chocolate, it looks incredibly delicious! The second mural showcases the endangered animal of Miaoli, the "Leopard Cat." It's holding a large leaf over its head in the rain, allowing you to take a shoulder-to-shoulder picture with it, as if the adorable Leopard Cat is sheltering you from the rain with an umbrella.

The third mural brings the joy of nature to life, with small animals frolicking in the grass, and pigeons soaring freely in the sky, making you feel as if you're in a forest surrounded by the enchanting aroma of nature.

The fourth mural depicts a scenic journey on the famous Shengxing Station's little train, surrounded by Taiwan's renowned strawberry fields from Miaoli's Dahu, which get crowded during strawberry season. On the left side of the train, you'll find another famous Miaoli landmark, the "Longteng Broken Bridge." Originally known as the "Yutengping Bridge," it's considered one of the iconic engineering structures from Taiwan in the 1900s.

Lastly, we arrive at a countryside cottage's backyard. The brick walls and black-tiled roof evoke memories of days gone by, like when parents brought their children to their grandparents' home. Inside, the scent of orange marmalade fills the air, and children swing on a swing under the tree. This simple and pure experience is something you can't find in the hustle and bustle of a city filled with high-rises.

For FIPEA Design, this has been a rare and valuable collaboration. The process of creating the murals was not easy, and their maintenance can be even more challenging. We hope that everyone who has the opportunity to visit Rabbit Pop House will help maintain the cleanliness and beauty of the walls.
