Biobased materials have gradually entered the public spotlight. They are often regarded as alternatives to plastics, even labeled as \u201cgreen.\u201d But are they truly eco-friendly? The answer is not that simple.<\/em><\/p><h4><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 14pt;\">\ud83c\udf31 What is Biobased Materials ?<\/span><\/h4><p>Biobased materials refer to materials derived from plants or biological resources, such as corn starch, sugarcane fiber, bamboo, wheat straw, and even bacterial fermentation products. Does it compete with food crops?)<\/li><li>The manufacturing process (Energy sources and carbon emissions)<\/li><li>End-of-life treatment (Availability of proper composting\/recycling systems)<\/li><\/ul><p><em>\ud83d\udc49 If it's merely a plastic substitute without supporting recycling or composting systems, biobased materials may be nothing more than a \u201cgreen packaging\u201d concept.<\/em><br \/><em>\ud83d\udc49 The key to true sustainability often lies in reducing consumption and reusing products, with material substitution coming only afterwards.<\/em><\/p><h4><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\ud83d\udca1 Our Perspective on Biobased Materials<\/span><\/h4><p>In product design, material selection often affects a product\u2019s lifespan, user experience, and environmental impact. reducing consumption, reusing, and designing for durability.<br \/>\u2013 When we use biobased materials, we also evaluate their supply chain, processing conditions, and end-of-life recycling
